Just like back in kindergarten, Gold Stars are a way for myYearbook members to tell each other, "You rule." The recipient gets a bit of Lunch Money too, along with a general feeling of happiness that often lasts for hours.

To give out a Gold Star, you can click the gold star icon wherever it appears on myYearbook -- generally next to the other person's photo or name. Or, if you're looking at someone's profile, click the "Gold Star" link underneath the photo.

High 5s are like Gold Stars, but less shiny. They're a way to say hey, or break the ice, or just give your friend some kudos. As with Gold Stars, High 5s come with a small Lunch Money bonus.

To give out a High 5, you can click the blue ID icon wherever it appears on myYearbook, generally next to someone's name or photo. That will open up that person's miniprofile, which contains several icons for actions you can take -- including a High 5! Or, if you're looking at someone's profile, click the "High 5" link underneath the photo.

Flirts are a more personalized way to break the ice, especially with that hottie you found in Battles...

You can choose from the list of Flirts, which range from exceptionally cheesy to the smoothest of smooth, or if you're feeling creative, go ahead and write your own.

Flirts cost a little bit of Lunch Money to send, and the target of your Flirt gets a portion of what you paid.

To send a flirt, click the lips icon wherever it appears on myYearbook -- generally next to someone's name or photo. Or, if you're looking at someone's profile, just click the "Flirt" link under the photo.

Exactly what it means in real life -- that you'll follow them around from gig to gig and party with them after the show!

But no! On myYearbook, being someone's Groupie just means you think they're cool, and you want people to know it. Your name and photo will be on their profile, in the Groupies box, for everyone to see.

To become someone's Groupie, click the "[Be a Groupie!]" link in the Groupies box on their profile.

To give someone a gift, click the purple gift box icon anywhere it appears on myYearbook -- generally next to the person's photo or name -- or click the "Gift" link under the photo on their profile.

This will open the gift catalog, and you can pick out exactly the gift you want to give. Each gift costs some Lunch Money, with prices ranging from the very low to the very expensive. Remember, it's the thought that counts -- but everyone likes getting expensive gifts!

The myYearbook Family is a way for members to give their friends titles, like "Brother," "Arch Nemesis," or the ever-popular "Annoying Friend of Significant Other." Basically, it's a way for someone to define the relationship they have with certain friends. So if you get invited to someone's family, you should probably take it as a compliment. It means they're thinking of you!

Click the "Family" link under the photo on their profile to invite that person to your family. You'll see a long list of family slots you can give to that friend, or you can also enter your own title, if none of the available choices sound quite right. And there are no limits -- you can have as many Homies as you can find.
